Shirley Temple (also known as Shirley Temple Black, after her second marriage) was born April 23, 1928. She is still living.

    Shirley Temple has not appeared in movies sicne 1949, but her movies continue to be popular and they are now available on dvd and even internet downloads.

    Part of the reason for Shirley Temple's continued popularity was that unlike many child actors she wasn't just adorable, was truly talented. A bright and intelligent child, Shirley Temple went on to a successful career as a diplomat, serving as the United States ambassador to Ghana and to Czhechoslovakia.
